Position Summary
The HR Manager will lead all human resources operations and oversee office management functions, playing a critical role in shaping company culture, ensuring compliance, and driving HR strategies that support a growing team in an innovative biotech environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong HR leadership experience with exceptional employee relations skills, including performance management, conflict resolution, and trusted HR advising, to thrive in a dynamic, science-driven organization. Experience in biomedical, laboratory, research, or healthcare settings is strongly preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
Human Resources / Operations
- Lead and manage all HR functions with a focus on employee relations, compliance, and strategic HR support.
- Develop, implement, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local laws (including California and Florida).
- Manage full-cycle recruitment: candidate outreach, screening, interviewing, background checks, onboarding, and orientation.
- Administer employee relations processes, including performance management, disciplinary actions, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Lead training and development efforts to support employee engagement, performance, and retention.
- Own the ADP PEO relationship and administer payroll, benefits, and compensation-related programs.
- Oversee time and attendance records in support of accurate payroll processing.
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor to executives, managers, and employees.
- Manage HR consultants and act as the primary liaison between them and the company.Other HR-related duties as requested by executive leadership.
Office Administration
- Coordinate day-to-day office operations to maintain efficiency.
- Order and manage office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
- Support executives with administrative tasks including scheduling and internal communication.
- Act as a point of contact for facilities-related needs and office administrative support.
Ad Hoc Responsibilities
- Lead and support HR projects and internal initiatives as required.
- Facilitate internal communication and collaboration between departments.

Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance at federal, state, and local levels, including California and Florida.
- Demonstrated strength in employee relations, conflict resolution, investigations, and performance management.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems; ADP PEO experience strongly preferred.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR management experience (required).
- Prior HR experience in biomedical, research, laboratory, healthcare, or biotech environments (strongly preferred).
- Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, and walk during the workday.
- Ability to use standard office equipment (computer, phone, printer).
- Occasionally lift and carry office materials up to 25 pounds.
- Effective communication in person and via electronic channels.
